GIRRAWHEEN sisters Selma (12) and Latifah (11) Halilovic won gold medals in their first national taekwondo competition.

The pair, who train at ATI Martial Arts in Malaga, each won a gold medal at the Australian Taekwondo 2018 National Championships in Bendigo in September.

“They have been doing martial arts for six years,” their father Hussein said.

“They started originally with karate and the past three years they have been doing taekwondo.”
