Hussey, one of our district’s most famous sporting products, made an exciting presentation to the club as part of his ambassadorial role with a major Australian cricket sponsor.

Joondalup-Kinross received a new barbecue, fridge and freezer as well as eskies, tables, chairs and marquees to help with its Cricket Champs program, which aims to widen cricket’s appeal to children.

‘Something like Cricket Champs is a great program, particularly for kids of all abilities who maybe don’t feel comfortable going into mainstream cricket,’ Hussey said.

Year 6 Lake Joondalup Baptist College student and junior cricket player Callum Andrews admitted being ‘star-struck’ when greeted by Hussey.
