Hussey bats for the Roos

The former Test batsman will pad up for the Roos against Subiaco Floreat in their first Statewide T20 Competition match of the season.

Hussey (38) is in preparation for the Big Bash season with his new club, the Sydney Thunder.

The left-hander caused a stir earlier this year when he said he would be leaving the Perth Scorchers to join Sydney.

No slouch in the shortest form of the game, Hussey was top run scorer for Indian Premier League side, the Chennai Super Kings, earlier this year.

The opening batsman blasted 733 runs at a menacing average of 56.3 over the two-month season, from April to the end of May.
