Jackson is part of WA’s newly established under-17 cycling team, Apollo Racing, which is made up of six of the State’s best male and female riders.

Junior cyclists from around the country raced for two days over 220km in a peloton-style event, which had the Apollo Racing team ride in a group to help Jackson take the win.

‘The team worked together allowing Matt to get wins in the last two stages,’ team manager Eugene Lambert said.

‘Overall, Matt won by just 12 seconds which was a testament to the work of the team, especially in the last stage with bonus seconds every lap.
