Lightning strikes to dump Wolves from SBL finals

Staff ReporterWanneroo Times

The Wolves had a huge task ahead of them to defeat the Lightning at Lakeside Recreation Centre where they had not lost all season.

The visitors matched the home side for the majority of the 79-66 defeat, but a 24-10 second period in favour of the Lightning proved the difference in game two of the best-of-three series on Friday.

Lakeside’s Kari Pickens was again the Wolves’ biggest threat, hitting a match-high 32 points to follow her 26 points in game one.
