OCEAN Reef surfer Adam Le Cornu was ranked fifth in the country for the over-45s division at last month’s Australian Longboard Titles.

Held as part of the Australian Surf Festival at Coffs Harbour, Le Cornu was representing WA for the first time after he won the over-45s state longboard championship.

After progressing from the first round to the quarter-final, he was beaten in the semi-final by just one point to place him fifth for the competition.

Fellow Wave Walkers Longboard Club members also performed well. Anthony Spencer, of Trigg, won the under-18 title by 0.8 of a point and Jack Medland, of Scarborough, finished fifth in the open men’s.
