The over-55s competed in four divisions for more than $3000 worth of prizes before enjoying lunch and an award presentation.
Oldest golfer on the day was Jack Williams (89), who has been a Wanneroo club member for 35 years.
Wanneroo veterans’ captain Peter Flemming said the competition, which attracted players from as far away as Carnarvon and Bunbury, was becoming recognised as one of WA’s biggest.
‘We were very pleased with the whole day,’ he said.
‘The course was in excellent condition.’
Around 60 Wanneroo veteran golfers play the Neerabup course every Friday morning (except Christmas Day and Good Friday).
