The 22-year-old Ford Performance Racing driver passed Craig Lowndes to take the lead and deny the veteran Holden driver a second win for the weekend.

Mostert stole the lead from the Triple Eight Race Engineering driver midway through the 83 laps before negotiating past back-markers toward the end to win his first Supercar race by two seconds. Team-mate Mark Winterbottom finished third to maintain his position at the top of the championship ladder.
