Suspenseful match ahead for Wanneroo and Rockingham-Mandurah cricket teams

Mark DonaldsonWanneroo Times

WANNEROO needs three wickets to win but Rockingham-Mandurah requires just 28 runs for victory in what will be an exciting start to the second day of their WACA Premier Cricket clash on Saturday.

Batting first, the Roos seemed headed for embarrassment when they fell for 3-12 at Lark Hill on the weekend.

But a rally through the middle order led by Jake Fawcett’s 39 had the side edge to 150.

The Mariners’ Brendon Diamanti topped the bowling figures with 3-40.

The hosts were on target for an easy triumph in reply at 3-76, but lost the next four wickets for 46 runs, finishing the day on 7-123.

Rockingham-Mandurah’s Brayden Sutton top scored with 35.

Wanneroo’s Chris Quelch (2-38) and Kyle Millar (2-45) were the best of the Roos’ stock.
