REIGNING State saloon champion Grant Johnson started where he left off last year by winning the category at the Night Masters meeting at Barbagallo Raceway on Saturday.

The 2016 national champ won from teammate Matt Martin in their Martin Engineering Purple Commodores from Rick Gill (White AU Falcon #81).

In other results: Austin Pearson won the Formula vees from Rod Lisson;

Grant Hill won the sports sedans in a Ford V8 Supercar; Andrew Stevens won the street car class; Matt Cherry won the improved production in hisred and white Monaro; and John Bondi won the historic touring cars in his Orange Monarofrom his brother Brian Bondi in his Red Monaro.
