NBL: Perth Wildcats look forward to Andrew Bogut challenge

IT honestly feels like an eternity since we played against the New Zealand Breakers and came away with a couple of fantastic wins.

Due to the FIBA International Break, the NBL had to have a break in the schedule.

We had a couple of lads featuring in the Australian Boomers squad in Mitch Norton and Nick Kay as they secured a spot in the FIBA World Cup in 2019. Congratulations to not only those two but the rest of the Australians that have featured at some time during the qualifying campaign.

We now turn our attention to the game against the Sydney Kings tonight and look to continue this fantastic run.

At the start of the season it was definitely a fixture I was looking forward to.

Andrew Bogut is one of the best basketball players Australia has produced and to see him feature in the NBL this year is absolutely fantastic; I know our big fellas especially are looking forward to the challenge.

He is an absolute monster on the board and is quite imposing on the defensive end, but his ability to pass is an underrated feature as he leads the team in assists.

Their line-up is potent; you have Randle, Newley and Lisch, who are some quality players, and so many more names in their lineup that can really have a impact on the game.

It is going to be a fantastic challenge for us to go up against a team I think will feature in the playoffs.

With Damian Martin returning to the lineup and more minutes into Angus Brandt, we will hopefully start having our full contingent for the rest of the games and continue building.

Just like me, I hope you’ve missed the NBL, and what a game to start the round.
