SORRENTO Surf Life Saving Club was strongly represented at last months Australian Surf Life Saving Championships in Queensland.
Our young up-and-coming athletes performed exceptionally well against the best in Australia, club marketing director Christine Cougan said.
Our under-15 rescue and resuscitation team just missed out on the gold on countback but came away with a silver, making all the hard work and training definitely worth it.
Open beach sprinter Jackson Symonds won silver before backing it up as part of the clubs open relay team, running with Tom Hodgkins, Paul Kappeler and Sam Deans to come away with bronze.
The under-19 doubles team of Nick Pond and Brett Cassidy won a gold medal and Jack Merson won bronze in the under-17 short board competition.
The clubs masters athletes came home with one gold, three silver and one bronze.
