Hosted at the Pinjar Park Speedway, the main event became a two-horse race after last year’s winners Scott Charsley and Matt Reese, who were unbeaten through the heats, were excluded from the final for touching the tapes at the start of the race.

Also racing on the night were the 500cc solos, with Cameron Heeps taking top spot ahead of Daniel Winchester and Kale Ballantyne, and the 125cc, with former state champion Declan Killeen winning from Brad Gordon and Chris Bogdan.
