Pitt’s Mulberry crew enjoys fruitful day out

Although 9kg is well short of a crew member’s weight, it is a useful exercise for the Safety Certificate compliance and challenging in strong winds when having to douse a spinnaker for the off-wind legs.

Off Sorrento on a recent Sunday, a moderate breeze filled in during the afternoon, making ideal conditions in which Mulberry skippered by Mark Pitt was first and fastest in division 1, followed by Dart Vader (Wayne Pitcher) and Hard Evidence (Des Riley). In division 2, Stuart Marks in Zinfandel mastered the art of retrieval best to record a first and fastest, with Commodore Chris Grant in Pandora second and HYC Training skippered by Chris Kelly in third place.
