Pressure on Falcons as Royals seek revenge

Bill MonaghanWanneroo Times

The Royals have had a disappointing month with three losses from the last three rounds so we need to be prepared for a team that will be hungry for victory at Leederville Oval.

We can't have a defensive lapse like we did through the middle of the game last time when their midfield got on top of us.

While it's really difficult to pick who will make up their side, they're likely to have some handy inclusions since we faced them in round eight.

For us, Marcus Adams will be back after recovering from a broken hand and Kris Shannon will return from a slight leg injury that caused him to miss the East Fremantle game.

Tyler Keitel will be in the mix again, but it will be difficult to find a spot for another tall player given we've got Adams coming back.

East Perth did not field a particularly tall side against us last time with only Eagles rookie Rowen Powell in the forward line and Scott Lycett and Paul Johnson rotating between ruck and forward.

Given the AFL form of ruckman Callum Sinclair and tall forward Fraser McInnes, we would expect them to hold their West Coast spots.

So it's a rare week where we don't require too many tall players, but having said that, both Keitel and Joe Morrow are very close to promotion from the reserves.

We need to decide whether we want to go a little bit taller or stay with running players, which we've done in recent weeks.
