Roos defy difficult conditions

Ted HusseyWanneroo Times

The game was abandoned, but Wanneroo could boast good performances from opener Alex Burton, who top scored with 35, and wicketkeeper Colin Smith, who contributed an undefeated 29.

The bowling was strengthened by the return of Gary Atkinson, and while he and Jack Catterall bent their backs in anticipation, the weather was the winner.

Second grade drew with Mt Lawley at Kingsway where Donavin Fryer led the batting with 63, while Captain Nathan Henry made 43 which was most creditable in the conditions.
