EVER stood on the beach and gazed out across the blue waters wishing you could be out there fishing, diving or sailing?
Well your dream can start with a taste of sailing on Sunday, November 1, at Hillarys Yacht Club between 9am and 1pm.
On this free Discover Sailing Day, club members will take individuals out for a sail with juniors going in dinghies such as the Optimist and adults or families going on the racing or cruising keelboats.
The club provides activities through the angling, diving, power and sailing sections.
Operating out of a new junior clubhouse, young members can learn to sail and access holiday courses and coaching on dinghies suited to their skill level under the guidance of experienced teenagers and adults.
The bigger yachts either race in one of three divisions or go cruising together and some do both.
Start sailing, VHF radio, first aid and recreational skipper’s ticket courses are offered regularly.
The club offers a range of eating and bar facilities with social activities.
Come to Hillarys Yacht Club and see these facilities and try sailing. Call 9246 2833 or visit www.hillarysyachtclub.com.au.
