Selwood works hard to return for Eagles

Speaking at ECU Joondalup, the tough 24-year-old confirmed he was eyeing a comeback from the ankle injury that has sidelined him for more than two months.

‘The plan is for me to try to get myself right for September,’ he said.

‘I’m doing running sessions and a bit of kicking but at this stage I’m just taking it day by day.

‘I’d love to be there playing if we are there in the finals and that’s what I’m working towards.’

To make the top eight, West Coast is counting on a number of results to fall its way ” the most important being an Adelaide loss to North Melbourne in Hobart on Saturday.

Selwood was at ECU to share advice with students from Cecil Andrews Senior High School.

He spoke of the importance of higher education.

‘There are a lot of qualified sports scientists in footy clubs these days who all work to support the players,’ he said.
