The weekend experienced varying conditions with onshore winds proving challenging on Saturday but clearing to perfect offshore conditions with clean three to four-foot swell on Sunday.

Manners scored the wave of the day on his way to victory on Sunday with a near perfect 9.17 from a long barrel.

Holly Wawn, from Avalon in New South Wales, won the premier female under-16 division with a score of 14.50 out of a possible 20, beating Yallingup local Eliza Greene by two points.

WA champion April McPherson, from Mandurah, wowed the judges as she won both the under-12 and under-14 girls’ divisions.

McPherson looked fearless as she tackled the fast breaking waves, edging out some of the best up-and-coming female junior surfers in WA.
