State Road Racing Championships: Ben Stronach leading at round three

THE State Road Racing Championships continue this Sunday with round three at Barbagallo Raceway.

Local rider Ben Stronach leads the superbike division on 126, just 14 points ahead of Adam Chambers and fellow local Ralph Mammoliti on 106.

Current state and national supersport championships leader Sam Clarke continued his winning streak at the July 17 competition with a perfect round.

The local rider sits on 139 points followed by Leigh Boujos on 109 and brother Tim Boujos on 105.

Three-wheeled action will return this weekend for the second round of the sidecar championship.

Murray Stronach and Steve Marshall lead on 85 points, just 10 points clear of Jero Joyce and Corey Blackman, with Lance Baylis and Evelyne Scholz on 67.

Former state 125GP champion Scott Pettit is dominating this year’s division on 170 points, ahead of David Manson on 137, Tom Hatton on 121 and defending champion Dave Doughty on 105.

There will also be clubman races in the 600cc and 1000cc divisions.

Racing action from 10.50am. Tickets are $20 at the gate. Children aged 15 and under are free.
