Warwick Greenwood Senior Cricket Club president Justin Shakeshaft and vice-president Xavier Deering will be keynote speakers at the conference to be held on April 10.

The Clubs in-focus program helps sporting clubs work with City of Joondalup staff to improve the way they operate.

Through the program, city staff assisted the merger of Warwick and Greenwood, a process that took 18 months.

Mr Shakeshaft said the key to the amalgamation was open communication between the two clubs.

‘We had tremendous co-operation from everyone involved and there was not too much resistance from either club or its members,’ he said.

‘The controlling body, the North Suburban Community Cricket Association, provided great support, as did the City of Joondalup through its Clubs in-focus program.’ For details visit Joondalup.wa.gov.au.
