Wanneroo councillors approved the sponsorship at last month’s council meeting after a deputation from under-13s team and fundraising manager Silvana Macri.

‘They are so excited ” for many this is their first time overseas and some may not get this chance again because a lot of these kids’ parents are struggling, this is the chance of a lifetime,’ Mrs Macri said.

The fundraising committee have held cake stalls, sausage sizzles, raffles and chocolate drives since the teams were invited to the Centaurs International Youth Rugby Tournament early this year.
