PERTH'S north continues to produce some of WA's best female lacrosse players.

Four locals were in the under-15 national championship-winning West Australian Stars side, which defeated Victoria 10-7 in Success last month.

Ocean Reef’s Baillie-Rose Keenan, Duncraig’s Nicola Heron and Kinross’ Kirsten Smedley were part of the playing group, while Wanneroo’s Alana McKinlay coached the victorious team.

It was McKinlay’s last time as coach of the under-15 group.

‘It was a long process of four years for this to occur and along the way I got the honour and privilege to coach some of the most amazing and talented girls all of which are turning into beautiful, driven, passionate women,’ she said.
