Victory over Peel is critical

To go over to the other side of the country and play the way they did against quality opposition was a credit to them.

It was a good opportunity for us to trial some new faces and experiment with players in different positions. The two-point win, achieved without a number of key footballers, showed we have a promising level of depth at the club.

It filled us with great confidence that our younger players are capable of coming into the senior side and having an impact.

We’re hopeful that form can continue into this weekend’s crucial match against Peel at Arena Joondalup.

It’s been tough to decide what squad to take into the clash, particularly after our solid effort in Melbourne on Tuesday night.

While we haven’t been winning many games this season, we haven’t been playing that badly.

Do we continue to back the same 22 in each week? Or do we make some changes? You could probably mount a fair argument for both scenarios.

Matt Guadagnin (hamstring and back) and Steve Potente (cork) are likely inclusions after seeing out the Foxtel Cup without any injury problems.

A win is critical for us this weekend.

Our season won’t be over if we lose the match, but it will make it all the more harder to get our year back on track.
