WA Motocross: locals begin Junior and Senior Championships in Kalgoorlie

THE 2017 Junior and Senior Motocross Championships kick off this weekend with an Easter doubleheader at the Goldfields Motorcycle Club.

Saturday will see the juniors hit the track keen to start their season well. With some of the previous champions moving up to seniors, the remaining young talented riders such as Mat Fabry, Regan Duffy and Kayden Minear will be vying for points early.

The junior quads will also be making their season debut at the Kalgoorlie track.

On Sunday, the seniors will have their turn, with defending champions Dean Porter (MX1 class) and Josh Adams (MX2 class) ready to take on some of the young guns, including Mitchell Outram, Billy Middleton and Kurt Oinn, as well as more familiar riders Mitch Taylor, Paul Humbertson and Charlie Creech.

The veterans class has become a championship class for 2017 and the women’s class is boasting plenty of talent, with Lily Kent, Chelsea Blakers, Meagan and Hannah Bagnall and Teleisha Outram. Senior quads will also be racing.
