WANNEROO lost two early wickets but will be confident of eclipsing Bayswater Morley’s 133 on day two of the WA Premier Cricket clash this weekend.

A standout bowling performance from Leigh Millar (5-34) led the Roos in restricting the Bears to a modest total at Kingsway on Saturday.

Just three of the visitors’ batsmen struck 20 or above, with Josh Philippe top-scoring on 38.

In reply, the hosts looked in trouble early, falling to 2-30 at the hands of WA bowler Nathan Rimmington (2-31).

But English import Dan Lawrence (36) and opener Mitch McGee (32) steadied with an unbeaten 53-run partnership to have the Roos 2-83 at stumps.
