WANNEROO appears headed for a first innings loss against a talented Fremantle outfit when day two of the WA Premier Cricket begins on Saturday.

The visitors (second) kept the hosts (11th) to 140 at Kingsway before finishing the day on 3-99.

The Roos’ Alex Burton top-scored with 61 as Fremantle’s Jamie Heath impressed with 4-9 off less than five overs.

Wanneroo was in trouble at 3-6 early in the innings with its first three batsmen each out for nought.

But Burton and Dan Lawrence (26) arrived at the crease to stymie the tumble of wickets.

Fremantle’s Jake Carder was unbeaten on 53 at stumps.
