WANNEROO is through to the Premier T20 decider after two impressive finals victories on Sunday.
The Roos thrashed Subiaco Floreat by 104 runs in the semi-final before defeating Mt Lawley by 49 runs in the preliminary.
Against the Lions, a 96-run opening partnership from Max Holden (61) and Rob Richards (35) gave Wanneroo a solid launching pad from which to build a competitive 172 at Breckler Park.
Subiaco Floreat’s response was almost non-existent, scrambling to 27 before losing three wickets in a row for nought on its way to meagre 68.
Against the Hawks, it was Wanneroo’s bowlers who took charge, keeping Mt Lawley to 90 in defence of a precarious 139.
Mathew Dzodzos (3-14) and Rob Richards (3-7) were Wanneroo’s best with the ball.
Wanneroo faces Claremont-Nedlands in the grand final on January 28. It was a positive finish to the weekend for Wanneroo after the side lost to Rockingham Mandurah in the WA Premier Cricket two-day clash on Saturday.
The Mariners bowled out the Roos for 197 in defence of 299.
Christian Smith (39) and Kyle Millar (30) top scored.
