Openers Dan Lawrence and Kyle Millar survived the remaining five overs of day one to have Wanneroo at 0-21.

Earlier, the hosts batted at a conservative run rate of 2.95 across 83 overs to see out the majority of the day.

Top scorers were Callum Taylor with 43 and Michael Smith who was unrushed in his 41 off 117 deliveries.

Wanneroo’s Mathew Dzodzos bowled impressively to take 4-35.
