WACA Premier Cricket: upset brewing after Wanneroo piles on 360

WANNEROO are in the box seat for an upset win over second-placed Melville after seeing out the first day of the WACA Premier Cricket clash on a sizeable 360 on Saturday.

The Roos lost eight wickets to remain unbeaten from the maximum 90 overs with three batsmen – Mitch McGee (93), Rob Richards (93) and Christian Smith (90) – producing scores into the 90s at Tompkins Park.

Richards and McGee set the platform for the innings with a 155-run second-wicket stand.

On a grinding day for the hosts who fielded in the heat, Myles Keyt emerged as the standout on 4-82.

Victory for the 10th-placed visitors could boost them into the top six should other results fall in their favour.
