Wangara gymnasts fly high at national championships

WANGARA’S High Flyers gymnasts recently competed in the 2019 National Gymnastic and Trampoline Championships in Melbourne.

High Flyers in Wangara sent a team of 44 athletes to compete in women’s gymnastics, men’s gymnastics, trampoline and tumbling, as well as five coaches.

Director Emma Burton said it was their best national championships to date, with eight gold wins, 7.5 silver and 11 bronze.

“A special mention to Keara Nel for receiving an award of distinction from Gymnastics Australia for representing Australia at the 2018 Senior World Championships in St Petersburg Russia, in the double mini trampoline (DMT) event,” she said.
