IT TOOK Wanneroo Aquamotion club member Mitchell Perry (11) just eight months of dedicated training to become the under 12 state lifeguard champion.

The Madeley resident joined the lifeguard club in October and was crowned champion earlier this year at the Royal Life Saving Society WA Junior Lifeguard Club State Titles.

Mitchell was delighted with he win and said it proved all his hard work and training with the “best coaches” paid off.

The achievement was made even more impressive with the Madeley Primary School student only returning to the water in January 2017 after having four years off swimming due to ear infections.
