Team principal and owner-driver John Clark said the team was fortunate in getting a rare set of 18×13 inch forged magnesium alloy O-Z Racing wheels, which would help improve lap times considerably.

‘We will now be able to fit much bigger tyres, giving us a larger contact patch with the tarmac,’ Clark said. ‘This will vastly improve cornering speeds, as well as braking and acceleration efficiency, hopefully carving tenths of seconds from our lap times.

‘The provenance of these wheels is what makes them special as they were used on the Garry Rogers Motorsport 427 Holden Monaro, which was driven by the legendary Peter Brock.

‘Our car has a little piece of Rosco McGlashan’s Aussie Invader III moulded into the composite roof as inspiration and we are confident that we can go faster.’
