Wolves need strong pack

The third-placed Wolves are ahead of the fifth-placed Magic, but a loss will see them fall below their southern rivals because both sides are on seven wins.

Joondalup heads into the home clash coming off a sound 123-82 beating of Kalamunda at Joondalup Basketball Stadium last Friday.

The Eastern Suns were just two points down at quarter time, but blown away in the remaining three periods to be outscored by 41 points. An even spread of scorers highlighted the Joondalup effort with Kevin Davis (24 points), Seb Salinas (23), Trian Iliadis (23) and Rob Huntington (20) returning similar numbers.

Guard Joel Questel took a game-high six assists against his former side, while Davis and Salinas led rebounds with seven each.

In the women's competition, a 74-49 victory over Kalamunda boosted the Wolves to third place, but they face a major challenge against the top-placed Magic this weekend.

Shani Amos shone with 17 points and eight rebounds against the Eastern Suns. Ellyce Ironmonger took a game-high 12 rebounds.
