Young guns vie for top spot in WAMX Junior State Championship

THE state’s top junior motocross riders will be crowned at Pinjar Park after this Sunday’s final round of the WAMX Junior State Championship.

After five rounds of competition, Kayden Minear continues to lead the 50cc auto class on 496 points ahead of second placed Seth Clark on 444 and Jake Rumens third on 379.

This season, the 65cc classes have been combined but scored separately with Tyler Soloman leading the seven to under-10 years division by nine points from Jake Harvey on 455 and Clark on 401.

Cody Chittick leads the 10 to 12 years on 496 ahead of Liam Atkinson on 456 and Seth Manuel on 444.

In the nine to 12 years 85/150cc class, the top two spots are switched with Atkinson leading on 511 from Chittick on 470 and again, Manuel is third on 450.

Mitch Outram leads the 12 to 16 years class on 491 points followed by Jacob Daniels on 437 and local rider Regan Duffy on 414.

Outram also leads the 13 to 15 years 100/125cc class by 12 points from Mat Fabry on 461 and Kurt Oinn on 416.

Justin Hart leads the 15 years division on 490 ahead of Dale Doutch on 450 and Jonathon Hartley close behind on 443. As defending champion, Hart also leads the 128-150cc/250cc on 516, 99 points ahead of Fabry on 417 and Hartley on 413.

Wanneroo Junior Motocross Club will host the sixth and final round at its Neerabup track with racing from 9.30am.
