Louis (14) suffered a knee injury when he was 12 that kept him out of the game for two years.

He made a big impact on his return to the court, which culminated with him finishing runner-up in the 14s national championships last December.

Having reached the finals of a number of men’s tournaments, he holds a Tennis Australia 152 ranking. Lleyton Hewitt is ranked number one.

Greenwood elite coach Ash Dyer underlined Louis’s efforts in becoming the number one boy in the country for his age.

‘To come back after a lengthy period with no Australian ranking points and to be ranked number one in the space of 10 months is quite remarkable,’ he said.

Louis’s club mate Monique (11) has been playing tennis since she was five.

Strong form in recent months has seen her ascend through the rankings to be named the number two player for girls born in 2002.

Monique won the WA Open Juniors 14s tournament.

She also made it to the quarter- finals of the 12s nationals.
