Youngsters ace way to championships

TWO local youngsters have aced their way to Queensland to represent WA at the Australian Teams Championships from June 29 to July 4.

This is the most prestigious team event that 11/u and 13/u tennis athletes can be selected for, with teams playing against some of the most talented players from around Australia as well as several international teams from the Asia-Pacific region.

The WA contingent includes 12 players and four coaches.

WA national academy manager Tom George said he was proud of the team selected and was confident they would excel and represent their state with pride and commitment.

“The players have warranted selection through excellent tournament results and wonderful attitudes on and off court,” he said.
