Lockers to make deliveries easier

Staff ReporterWeekend Kwinana Courier

The 1300-plus people who receive at least one parcel a day will now be able to pick up their parcels at a time that’s convenient to them, rather than having to visit the post office the day after a delivery if they’re not home.

To meet the demand for online shopping deliveries, Australia Post plans to install 250 parcel lockers across the country by June 2014.

To use a parcel locker, customers register free at auspost.com.au/parcel-lockers and nominate the Rockingham lockers as their delivery destination. Customers then use the parcel locker address as a postal address for their item, and when the item arrives they will receive an email with a unique pin code to access their parcel.

Fremantle business ow-ner Nicole Cherry-Bayles, from Yangebup, said many of the customers of her organic snack mail-order company Modern Day Hippie were from Rockingham.
