Baldivis singer tunes up for Boyup Brook Country Music Festival

BALDIVIS singer Jasmine Atkins is gearing up to perform at the Boyup Brook Country Music Festival on February 15 to 18.

Described as “a vibrant new personality on the Australian country music landscape,” Atkins is winning audiences over with her raw and personal song writing ability and distinctive vocal delivery.

Atkins started performing at a young age, learning piano from the age of three.

She taught herself to read music and was writing songs by her 10th birthday.

In 2015, she graduated from the CMAA Academy of Country Music in Tamworth.

This experience left her hungry for success in her chosen career, tackling her lofty goals.

That same year, Atkins was awarded the Western Australian Country Music Award for Songwriter of the Year as well as being nominated for Best Emerging Talent.

She won multiple awards at the 2016 CCMA National Talent Quest and went on to compete in the Australia v New Zealand Trans-Tasman Entertainer of the Year competition, where she took home the Most Promising Artist title.

This year, Atkins was acknowledged again by the WA Country Music Awards, making the finals in the Songwriter of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, and Best Emerging Talent categories.

“I am so excited to be making my full band debut at the festival,” she said.

“Boyup is one of my favourite times of the year and I love being part of it.

“There are so many amazing artists throughout the weekend, it’s going to be awesome.”
