Described as an engaging and lovable performance that captures the vulnerability and pathos without resorting to sentimentality, I Am Jack explores the often overlooked pain that taunting and teasing bullies inflict on their victims.
The story centres on Jack, who is smart, and funny but suffering at the hands of bullies. What starts as an off-the-cuff joke during a handball competition soon turns into a set of circumstances whereby Jack is no longer safe in the playground.
With the use of self-expression through photography, Jack begins to make sense of his world, of his relationships with others, and most importantly, with himself.
The story is based on the novel of the same name by Susanne Gervay, which was inspired by her sons experiences.
Audiences will be delighted and informed as they watch actor David Hynes play all 11 characters.
