WATCHING his brother play recently inspired local musician Matt Gresham to announce a homecoming show for Rockingham.
Known for his uplifting indie and roots tunes his local shows in Rockingham have always got fans moving and grooving along with lots of laughter and fun thrown into the mix.
He will play Bar Indigo at the Leisure Inn Complex on Saturday, July 20.
Gresham said he missed playing in Rockingham.
“Honestly, its been so long since I played my own headline show in my hometown – I actually got inspired by watching my brother play at the Bar Indigo two weeks ago,” he said.
“I was just like I have to play a local show again – it’s where my heart lives.
“I’m so grateful to come from this beautiful little town and I want to start playing more in my home area.
“We filmed my new music video Home on the salt lakes in Baldivis and it just feels so natural singing to a local crowd.”
Recently released single Rising Up reflects a family struggle.
“This one is very personal to me having dealt with mental illness in my family. I feel it really resonates with the world right now,” he said.
Gresham’s fans can expect a mix of old and new music on July 20.
“It will be pure acoustic. The new record is so produced – I’m feeling like going back to my roots – my acoustic guitar, voice and storytelling,” he said.
“I’m thinking about throwing in some interesting cover songs too if anyone has some strange requests hit me up.”
August 17 will see the release of a new album: Who Am I Now.
Tickets are $25 and they can be purchased before or on the night through the Leisure Inn, Rockingham.
