DAVID Davies brings his one-man version of Jekyll and Hyde to Koorliny Arts Centre next month.
Based in the UK, David has toured the play Hyde – the final statement of Dr Jekyll all over Germany over the past two years and recently played the Perth Fringe World Festival.
“My parents live in the local area so I spend time here every three years,” he said.
David promises “gripping drama that will keep you on the edge of your seat.”
Hyde – the final statement of Dr Jekyll describes the events that led to the struggle between the good Dr Jekyll and his evil alter ego – Mr Hyde.
The year is 1886 and Dr Jekyll has discovered a formula that separates the good self from the evil self. The problem is that the evil Mr Hyde wants to take over the body of Jekyll forever so that he can indulge his monstrous pleasures.
Take the 50-minute journey with Dr Jekyll as he describes the events that led to his discovery as well as his struggle to keep control of Mr Hyde.
Will you be a witness to his final statement? Or will Mr Hyde prove too strong and take over forever?
Sterts Studio’s spokesman Peter Woodwood said the quality of both writing and acting made Hyde – the final statement of Dr Jekyll an entertaining and thought provoking hour of theatre.
“The proximity of actor and audience in this compact space made it especially spine tingling in places with audible gasps and reflexive shudders at some points,” he said.
