Pride in Peel Tropical Party celebrating diversity

THE Sunbreakers Restaurant carpark will be transformed into a tropical oasis for Pride in Peel.

Celebrating equality and diversity in the Peel region, the Pride in Peel Tropical Party features music by DJ Squinty, Tim James and Krafty Cue, and drag queens Veronica Jean Jones, Ruby Jewelz and Fay Rocious.

Organiser Stephen Carter said Pride brought the community together.

“Gay or straight, no matter what your sexual preference, you are welcome,” he said.

Proceeds go to the Freedom Centre, which supports LGBTIQ youth and a Pride in Peel Youth.

Mr Carter said the youth event was the next growth phase of Pride in Peel.

“This event is a great example for the youth in our community,” he said.

“They can know that there’s a safe space out there that accepts and loves them for who they are.”
