ROCKINGHAM artist Tracey Buchanan will hold her first solo exhibition, Through the Looking Glass, next month.
The exhibition will showcase a collection of works over the years.
She will also be holding a silent auction to raise money for headspace.
Buchanan said she had always enjoyed art, particularly painting and drawing.
“I did my first oil painting in 2002 and it just went from there,” she said.
“I’m an education assistant for pre-primary, so find my art is a relaxing escape.
“I have two children aged 17 and 15, so I usually get involved in my art after everyone has gone to bed. I’m often up to 3am; I forget the time when it’s quiet.”
Buchanan described her art as surrealist and colourful.
Her other passions include makeup, burlesque, photography and pin-up.
