ROCKINGHAM mother Aly Bannister was inspired to write her book Johnny the Leprechaun – Breaking School Rules to distract her three sons from technology.
“My children are my inspiration and needless to say, my target audience,” she said.
“In this world of iPads and Xboxes, streaming on demand, TV’s and podcasts, I felt it was essential that I started to write again.

Born in Banbury, Oxfordshire to Irish parents, Mrs Bannister was surrounded by Irish influences.
“It seemed only fitting to combine the love, lightness, shenanigans and laughter of those early Irish influences into a collection of fun, mischievous and quite rebellious children’s books all in the form of Johnny the Leprechaun,” she said.
Johnny the Leprechaun – Breaking school rules! is the first in a collection of four children’s books. Johnny the Leprechaun is the character in each book, and every story has a common theme of mischief and fun.
The official book launch will be on March 17 to coincide with St Patricks day.
The book is available to order at Making Magic Happen.
