About 200 take part in first Baldivis One Dayer Black Dog ride

Vanessa SchmittWeekend Kwinana Courier

THE inaugural Baldivis One Dayer Black Dog ride was a success with 200 participants from all over the metropolitan area taking part.

The ride started from Masters Baldivis, where participants enjoyed a bacon & egg roll, before a leisurely ride through the back roads south of Rockingham and then heading up the Darling Scarp to Dwellingup.

Dwellingup Primary School staff joined forces with the RSL and the P & C to prepare lunch for the riders and their pillions. Bikes were parked on the school oval and riders made good use of the school undercover area.

The aim of the ride was to raise awareness of depression and suicide prevention and raising funds for local mental health services.

Anyone suffering from depression, or knows of anyone suffering depression, should ring Lifeline on 131114. Lifeline was one of the major beneficiaries of the Blackdog Ride.
