ALDI will be opening in Kwinana next year.
The Kwinana Aldi, which will be a freestanding store on the corner of Chisham Avenue and Meares Avenue, was the first of six WA stores that were put out to tender by Aldi.
The supermarket chain will be investing around $450million to develop up to 70 outlets across the State.
“The arrival of Aldi in our City centre is great news for local residents and the economy,” said Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams.
“The new Aldi will provide around 15-20 permanent employment opportunities and will offer diversity for grocery shopping, conveniently located in our City centre.
“This is also great news for local retailers as Aldi will attract increased traffic into our City, which has the potential to flow-on to our local shopping centre.”
Developer Jaxon has been awarded the construction contract for the 1,767 square metre store accompanied by a 92 space car park.
Aldi is expected to open its doors in Kwinana in the second half of 2016.
