Couples Digby and Carolyn Wilson, Megan and Garry Williams and Sharee and Garry Hart are all finalists for the annual awards at Crown Perth that celebrate the contributions and achievements of surf lifesavers and clubs across WA.

The club is a finalist in eight categories, including the prestigious Club of the Year award and Patrol Club of the Year, which it has won for the past two years.

Mrs Wilson said the club had many entire families, from nippers to fully-fledged lifesavers, as members.

‘Our members are committed and supply a wonderful service to the community ” we are definitely a family-orientated club,’ she said.

‘We have many whole families involved with SHSLC; many of them have the whole family on patrol once they are old enough.’

Mrs Wilson said the club was proud of its finalists, with all but two of its nominations named as finalists.

‘We are hoping to pull the big one off this year and win the club of the year,’ she said.

The club will host the SLSWA State Board Riding Championships on June 8.
