A US collegiate soccer school is another step towards John Anderson realising his dream of playing for soccer giants Liverpool.

The Baldivis goalkeeper and hardcore Liverpool fan is a Community Newspaper Group HBF Junior Sports Hero finalist and admits he ‘eats, sleeps and breathes’ soccer.

John took up the game aged five and has played in goal for all that time, earning a spot training with the Football West Academy and the Celtic International Youth Academy in Perth, selection for the WA State under-13 squad and last season was the youngest goalkeeper in his team, Warnbro Strikers.

His efforts have also led to him being accepted into the National Scouting Report in the USA, where he is guaranteed a spot with a collegiate soccer school.

‘There has already been interest from a number of schools, and from the collegiate system I hope I can attract interest from a Major League Soccer club, then earn a move to Europe and eventually play for Liverpool,’ John said. He also plans to study law and sports science in the USA.
