The Organised Crime Squad conducted a series of raids last week after an investigation into the theft of a number of plants from a house in Anketell.

Later that day, a Willetton house was also raided and 215 cannabis plants were seized along with hydroponic equipment, two kilograms of cannabis leaf and eight kilograms of cannabis waste.

On January 18, another house – this time in St James – was raided and $7640 in cash was seized.

Five people have been charged with 13 offences, including cultivate a prohibited plant with intent to sell or supply, unlawfully obtained property (cash), and fraudulent appropriation of power.

Police expect to lay more charges after an extensive review of the evidence seized.
